This list is made up of my favorite thrash metal bands from Germany. The title might be fucked up, but it's a Nuclear Assault song and it's fitting. This order isn't very good, I need to go through and re-listen to most of these bands, but this is what I came up with off of the top of my head.
1. Destruction- all of their 80s stuff is great 2. Exumer- Possessed By Fire is awesome 3. Assassin- The Upcoming Terror is a must have 4. Pyracanda- Two Sides of a Coin is their best 5. S.D.I.- Sign of the Wicked has the great song "Megamosh" 6. Sodom- "Napalm in the Morning" is their best song 7. Kreator- Pleasure to Kill is pretty good 8. Tankard- funny cover of "Centerfold" 9. Living Death- haven't heard a full album, but I like a few songs

This is kind of a shitty list because it's just a list of a few shirts worn by band members that were funny/offensive/stupid and they obviously thought, "So fucking what?" when they put them on. Here ya go. Some of these images may be of poor quality because it was hard to find pictures of a certain shirt worn by a certain person. 1. James Hetfield- I have a drinking problem... I have two ands and only one mouth. 2. Tom Araya- Spongebob..... 3. Sebastian Bach- AIDS kills fags dead 4. Chuck Schuldiner- Kitty cats.... on the shirt of the creator of fucking death metal 5. James Hetfield (again)- Fuck off 6. Some fag from INXS, I just thought his shirt was funny so I'm sharing it- It says Go fuck yourself, but it's sideways and is supposed to look like Asian writing James also has another shirt that you can find on the internet that says FSU in big letters, but it really says Fuck Shit Up, I just couldn't find a good enough picture of it. This is a list of the 5 cheesiest videos I've seen in the last two weeks or so. 1. Hot Rockin- Judas Priest Any Judas Priest video is hilariously terrible, but this is the worst one yet. 2. Lick It Up- KISS Wow, Gene, you look badass with that facial expression... just kidding. 3. Holy Smoke- Iron Maiden Really, Bruce? Singing heavy metal in a field of flowers? Pathetic. 4. Gloves of Metal- Manowar Wow, nice outfits, nice battle scene, WTF were they thinking? 5. I Want Out- Helloween Great band, great song, terrible video This is a list of songs/albums that seem completely out of place for a band or just don't sound like the band normally does. Here goes (no particular order):
1. I'm the Man- Anthrax Rap+metal+comedy= I'm the Man, one of Anthrax's only good songs in my opinion 2. Dawn Patrol- Megadeth The voice Dave uses on this track is really weird, but I love it 3. Load, ReLoad, St. Anger- Metallica Although I like some selections from Load/ReLoad, and a very few from St. Anger, I could've gone without Metallica's experimentation in these albums 4. Power Metal- Pantera This album is crazily different than Cowboys From Hell, and it's astonishing that Anselmo is on vocals 5. Anything without Ozzy- Black Sabbath It's not Sabbath without Ozzy 6. Obituary- Hallows Eve Even though it's just a short instrumental, this is surprising because it isn't heavy and hard hitting like the rest of the album 7. Ode to Harry- M.O.D. This is a terribly mean song, but still funny and not extreme like most of their other work ATTENTION: This next list is not one that I made up. It was written by Howie Abrams and Sacha Jenkins, and is taken from their book The Merciless Book of Metal Lists. Here it is:
The Very Best Qualities of Metallica's Load and ReLoad albums: Nuff said. I thought that this "list" was funny, although I enjoy a few selections from each of these albums. This is a list of a few great metal songs that are about "evangelists" that tell people to send them money and that the donation will get them into heaven. Yeah. Right...
1. Leper Messiah- Metallica Great song off of Master of Puppets. 2. Read Between the Lies- Slayer Off of the great South of Heaven 3. Send Me Your Money- Suicidal Tendencies From Lights... Camera... Revolution, check out my review in the album reviews section. 4. Holy Smoke- Iron Maiden On No Prayer for the Dying. 5. No Religion- D.R.I. Tenth track on Crossover. This is a list of a few album cover artists that I feel have done some great work. This list is in no particular order except for Ed Repka, he's the best. I will list the artist, the bands they have worked with, and their best album cover (to me).
1. Ed Repka- (Megadeth, Death, Defiance, Municipal Waste, Nuclear Assault, Sanctuary, Uncle Slam, Venom) Best Work: Rust In Peace- Megadeth 2. Travis Smith- (Overkill, Death, King Diamond, Cradle of Filth, Flotsam and Jetsam, Avenged Sevenfold) Best Work: Nightmare- Avenged Sevenfold 5. Wes Benscoter- (Black Sabbath, Kreator, Dio, Slayer) Best Work: Phantom Antichrist- Kreator 9. Melvyn Grant- (Iron Maiden) Best Work: Fear of the Dark Click on one of the images below to view the gallery of each one of these artist's best cover. This is a list of some of the best fire starters or, as most call them, debut albums. Now before I start I would like to say that this list, along with all of my others, are what I believe RIGHT NOW. If you asked me the same thing in a month, a week, or even tomorrow, the answers might change, but for now this is the best I can do.
1. Mechanical Resonance- Tesla Every song on this album is distinguishable from the rest and are all worth many listens. 2. Metal Church- Metal Church The start of something amazing, so many great songs on here, more people should check it out. 3. Kill 'Em All- Metallica The start of the greatest band in history, and this certainly lives up to that hype. 4. Appetite for Destruction- Guns N' Roses The highest selling debut album of all time, and well worth that title. 5. Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin The precursor to heavy metal, this album has influenced countless musicians. 6. Skid Row- Skid Row The first CD I ever bought, still remains a great purchase and a frequent listen. 7. Blizzard of Ozz- Ozzy Osbourne A plethora of amazing songs and to add to that, it features the late legend Randy Rhoads. 8. Boston- Boston Lives up to the "classic" rock title. This one never gets old. 9. Bonded By Blood- Exodus Although it's not their greatest, it's a solid effort and certainly deserves attention. 10. Black Sabbath- Black Sabbath The very first heavy metal album. It's heavy, it's scary, it's legendary, it's metal. This is a list of my top 20 favorite bands/artists. WARNING: Some of these may not be hard rock or heavy metal.
1. Metallica 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Metal Church 4. Megadeth 5. Suicidal Tendencies 6. Slayer 7. Ozzy Osbourne 8. Tesla 9. Guns N' Roses 10. KISS 11. AC/DC 12. Exodus 13. Black Sabbath 14. Bad Company 15. Hallows Eve 16. Helloween 17. Motley Crue 18. Cinderella 19. Skid Row 20. Bob Seger Ahh, the first list. I will start out with the most obvious of lists: top 5 albums of all time.
1. Master of Puppets- Metallica A perfect album if there ever was one. From beginning to end it's a nonstop masterpiece 2. ...And Justice For All- Metallica Yes, two Metallica's in a row. They're that good. 3. Led Zeppelin IV- Led Zeppelin Not metal, but close enough. One of the Holy Trinity of British Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. 4. South of Heaven- Slayer Shocker? Many people think Reign In Blood is Slayer's best, but I think this one reigns. 5. The Dark- Metal Church Immensely underrated thrash. These guys are phenomenal and so is this album. There you have it. None will agree, some will understand, and many will full out hate this list, but I stand by it because they are all jaw-dropping albums. |
