Album reviews
This is probably my favorite Ozzy album. He has quite a few good ones, each one containing numerous good songs, but this one is the most complete. It starts out strong with Mr. Tinkertrain, a song about a child being abducted and sexually abused. Sickening lyrics, but great song. The next one is also an incredible song called I Don't Want to Change the World, which has a great message. After that, is Mama, I'm Coming Home, which is one of Ozzy's more famous song and it lives up to it's fame. Desire is the fourth song on the album and the quality still hasn't wavered. Then comes the greatest song of the first half of the album, No More Tears, which is probably the 2nd most popular Ozzy song of all time (not including Black Sabbath stuff). The next two songs, S.I.N. and Hellraiser aren't as popular as the previous tracks, but I have grown to like them. They still aren't songs that I would put on a playlist, but I certainly don't think of skipping them when they come on. Then comes another stand-out song, Time After Time, which is a slower tempo than most of the other tracks, but still a significant song. The next two songs, Zombie Stomp and A.V.H., are my least favorite tracks. Nothing about them stand out to me, but they aren't terrible songs. The last song on the record is, to me, the best one. Road To Nowhere is a great way to end this great album. I give this album a 8.5 because it is great, but there are two tracks that I could do without, and two that aren't super amazing. The best tracks are: Road To Nowhere, No More Tears, and Mr. Tinkertrain.

Suicidal Tendencies: Greatest crossover thrash band since the dawn of time. This is Suicidal's fifth release, and arguably their best (this one or HWILT is their best). The album starts out with You Can't Bring Me Down. The first lines are fast and aggressive, which is common with this genre. It has some funny lines and, overall, is a good song. Lost Again is another standout track, this is the most vocally pleasing track on the record, to me. The way Muir sings in this song is very cool. Alone starts out slower than the last two, and sounds suicidal... which makes sense. The fourth song on this album, Lovely, is yet another great track. When I first heard it, I thought the way Muir says "lovely" reminded me of Korn. For all of those people who hate Korn (I don't mind them, but they aren't very good), don't let this turn you away from a great song. Give It Revolution is a good song in my opinion, but my least favorite so far. The vocals seem awkward for Mike and I don't like them as much as how he sings on other tracks. Get Whacked is another one of the songs on this album that is near the bottom. It's lyrics aren't that great unless you're pissed at someone, then it will help you let off some steam. The next song is one of the best, Send Me Your Money. This is one of those songs that contains a theme commonly present in thrash: evangelists hungry for money. It's punky, it's thrashy, and it's funky. It's a great song. Emotion No. 13 is a pretty overlooked track for me, although I still like it. Not much is there for me in that song. The worst track on the album is Disco's Out, Murder's In. It's a good song, but the part that ruins it is that the phrase "disco's out murder's in" is repeated waaaay too many times. The worst song is followed by the best: Go'n Breakdown. The lyrics are humorous, sung in a cool manner, and in your face. This is Suicidal Tendencies' second best song of all time and is a great way to end the album. This album has it's ups and downs, but is overall great. I give it an 8.5/10 because of those few songs that bring it down. The three tracks that MUST be heard are: Go'n Breakdown, Send Me Your Money, and Lost Again.
This is probably the greatest hair metal album ever recorded. It is one of the most complete hair metal albums ever produced and it is absolutely stellar. There is not a single song on here that I would consider a filler or even mediocre. With the exception of a couple tracks, this album is almost a greatest hits album, all that would need to be included are about 5 songs from Tesla's other albums. The album starts off strong with Ez Come Ez Go, one of the greatest tracks on the album. The next song, Cummin' Atcha Live, is very upbeat and exciting and always makes me want to scream the lyrics. The third track starts off slow, but then goes into full out hair metal and kicks your ass, Gettin' Better is definitely better than a lot of other hair metal songs. 2 Late 4 Love has one of the best opening lines of any song, and is another killer track from Tesla's debut release. The next song, Rock Me to the Top, is on the simpler side of the album lyric-wise, but is still a good listen. The first ballad of the album, We're No Good Together, is a pretty number, but Tesla's ballads aren't usually as good as their other songs (with the exception of Love Song). One of the band's more famous songs, Modern Day Cowboy, is next up and kicks ass right along with the other tunes. Changes is a slower tempo than most of the other songs, but I wouldn't consider it a ballad. I would consider it an amazing song, though. The next anthem, Little Suzi, is a good song to make you feel better about your dreams by saying that if they come true, they will be better than many peoples' dreams, by far. The next track, Love Me, sucks you right in with the catchy riff and then won't let you go once you reach the opening lyrics. A great song all the way through. Cover Queen talks about a sexy woman (Women? In hair metal? What a surprise!) and it does it in such a compelling way. The last track, the last ballad, and maybe the weakest song on the album, but it's hard to tell since they are all so fantastic. Before My Eyes is a good track, above mediocre, but nothing thrilling. This is an essential hair metal album, even if you don't like hair metal. I give it a 10/10 and recommend that anyone who likes hair metal to give it a listen. The best tracks are Ez Come Ez Go, Modern Day Cowboy, and Cummin' Atcha Live.
This is my favorite album by Helloween, who are my favorite power metal band. Helloween hail from Germany and certainly know metal. The album starts off with a neat instrumental titled Initiation that is just under a minute and a half. After that, the album jolts to life with I'm Alive. The album proceeds with A Little Time which is another powerful song. After this comes a string of probably the four best songs on the album: Twilight of the Gods, A Tale That Wasn't Right, Future World, and Halloween. The album ends how it begins, with a short track that doesn't have any singing, but does include a spoken track, this is named Follow the Sign. Overall this album doesn't have anything that shouldn't be on it. Even the first and last tracks add to the album. The most recommended songs are A Tale That Wasn't Right, Halloween, and Twilight of the Gods. Since this is one of my favorite albums, and my favorite power metal album, I give it a 10/10 and recommend that everyone should give it a listen. You may not enjoy it as much as I do, but the musicianship is hard to surpass.
This album, to me, perfectly encapsulates heavy metal and thrash metal. From the unrelenting thrashterpieces (Battery and Damage Inc.), to the slower, but still extremely heavy songs (The Thing That Should Not Be and Welcome Home (Sanitarium)), to the flawless instrumental (Orion), to the greatest song in history (Master of Puppets), and everything in between (Disposable Heroes and Leper Messiah), this album is perfection. I could listen to it 100 times over and still not be bored. Powerful riffs and incredible solos are littered all over the album along with many lyrical themes like aggression, insanity, drugs, war, evangelists, and literature. This album is great, right down to the artwork. I recommend that every metalhead needs to give it at least one spin in their life. The songs that should be checked out are Master of Puppets, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), and Battery. This is my favorite album by my favorite band, therefore I give it an 11/10. That's the only time I'll do that, but it's well deserved.
